Okay so Megan may have killed Trevor, but it was an accident! Or it was self-defense. Or both! But now Liv, Amanda, and Katie have to decide exactly how far they’re willing to go to help their co-worker in need. Killed a Man (Joking) is a pitch-black comedy about violence, justice, and what it really means to be a ride-or-die friend. Produced by First Floor Theater in collaboration with The Sound.

meet the Cast and Creatives

Andrew Cutler (Trevor) is a co-founder of First Floor Theater in Chicago. Past acting credits with FFT include Fielder in Hooded, or Being Black for Dummies, Benjamin in Refrigerator, and Skinheadboy in Polaroid Stories. Chicago acting credits include productions with A Red Orchid Theatre, The Artistic Home, The Sound, and Broken Nose Theatre. Regional credits include the role of Jake in the world premiere of We're Gonna Be Okay, and the ensemble of The Many Deaths of Nathan Stubblefield at Actors Theatre of Louisville. He graduated from the University of Chicago with a degree in Theater and Performance Studies.

Jalbelly Guzmán (Liv) is incredibly thrilled to be working with the powerhouse team of Killed A Man (Joking). She is currently in her third year pursuing her BFA at Roosevelt University CCPA, after graduating and transferring from Florida School of the Arts. Her recent credits include Romeo and Juliet (Teatro Vista); West Side Story (Encore MT Company); Clash (CCPA); A Touch Unnatural (CCPA). Arti Ishak (Amanda) is an actor/writer/teaching artist originally from Detroit. Cassidy Slaughter-Mason (Megan) is a Chicago based artist by way of Portland, OR and is so excited to be working with First Floor Theater for the first time. Recent acting credits include: Natural Affection (Eclipse Theatre), Significant Other (Theatre Wit/About Face Theatre), Scapegoat (New Colony), Rapture Blister Burn (Goodman Theatre, Jeff nominated for supporting actress), Animal Farm (u/s for Steppenwolf for Young Adults), Wanda, Daisy, And the Great Rapture (Available Light Theatre). Beth Hyland (Playwright) is absolutely thrilled to be collaborating with First Floor! She is the co-founder and playwright-in-residence of The Sound, which has produced her plays Red Bowl at the Jeffs (Chicago Reader's "Ten Shows Our Critics Won't Soon Forget, 2018"), For Annie, and Seagulls. Her plays and musicals have been produced and developed at Actors Theatre of Louisville, Stephen Joseph Theatre (UK), The Hearth (NYC), Commission Theatre, Broken Nose Theatre, Underscore Theatre, Rabid Bad Theatricals, The Neighborhood, Stage Left, Dixon Place, 20% Theatre, and Potluck Variety Hour, among others. Rebecca Willingham (Director) is a co-founder and the Artistic Director of The Sound, where she directed Symphony for Six Jonis, Red Bowl at the Jeffs, For Annie and Seagulls. Her directing credits include Tympanic Theatre, Commission Theatre, Broken Nose Theatre, 20% Theatre, Prologue Theatre, and The Ruckus. Rebecca has assistant directed at The Goodman Theatre, American Theater Company, Griffin Theatre, Theater Wit, and Steep Theatre. She is a member of the Lincoln Center Directors Lab and an alumna of Emerson College and the National Theatre Institute.
